Loan Against Mutual Funds
- It's a loan you take by pledging your mutual fund units as security, without selling them. You receive funds directly in your bank account, while your units remain invested in the market as before.
- No. You remain the owner of your units throughout the loan and stay entitled to any returns they generate. Pledging only places a hold on the units, meaning you can't sell them while the loan is active.
- You need to be an Indian citizen, 21 years or older, with a personal and household income of at least ₹25,000/month, a valid government ID, and an Aadhaar-linked mobile number. You'll also need eligible mutual fund units that aren't already pledged or locked-in elsewhere.
- Only funds held with certain registrars (CAMS/KFintech), not already pledged elsewhere, and not under any lock-in period (like ELSS funds) can be used. We're working to expand this coverage over time.
- We automatically select the funds needed for your chosen loan amount. If you'd like to change this, you can navigate to "View & Edit Fund Selection" before confirming your loan.
- As per RBI guidelines, we lend against a portion of your fund value rather than the full amount, this keeps a safety buffer in case fund prices fall. The exact amount you're eligible for is shown clearly before you confirm anything.
- LTV is the percentage of your eligible mutual fund value that becomes your loan limit. For example, if your eligible funds are worth ₹1,00,000, only a portion of that , not the full amount , is offered as your loan, with the remainder kept as a safety margin against market movement in line with RBI guidelines.
- Yes. We connect to your portfolio through MF Central, a SEBI-regulated platform jointly set up by CAMS and KFintech, the two registrars that together hold records for most mutual funds in the country.
- If the market value of your pledged funds drops, your loan may become under-secured, this is called a shortfall. You'll get an alert with a deadline. Simply repay the shortfall amount shown in the app before that deadline.
- It is highly recommended to resolve any shortfall as soon as possible. Because market values fluctuate daily, acting quickly protects your investments and your loan standing.
- Yes. Since it's based on live fund values, your shortfall amount can move up or down daily until it's cleared. Always refer to the amount and deadline currently shown in the app, rather than an earlier alert.
- Your payment is treated as a part-prepayment. It's first adjusted against any EMI due/ overdue, then against your outstanding principal, and you get the interest benefit on the reduced principal starting from your next EMI.
- If it isn't resolved by the deadline, we may need to sell some of your pledged units to recover the amount, so it's best to act as soon as you get the alert.
- No, they're separate. Your EMI is your regular scheduled payment. A shortfall is an extra amount needed only if your fund value has dropped. You may need to pay one, the other, or both.
- If a shortfall isn't cleared by its deadline, or EMIs remain unpaid, the lender may sell (liquidate) some of your pledged mutual fund units to recover the amount owed. This happens only after you've been alerted and given a window to act.
- Your riskiest pledged funds are considered first. Only the amount needed to cover the outstanding shortfall and/or due/overdue EMI, along with any applicable charges, is liquidated , the rest of your pledged portfolio is left untouched.
- It’s a short 10 - 30 day window after closing your loan that lets you borrow again using the same mutual fund pledge. This saves you time and money by completely bypassing the pledging process and avoiding additional lien or un-lien charges. If unused, your pledge is fully released.
- Once you fully repay or foreclose your loan, and you don't take a new loan within the facility reuse period (usually 10 to 30 days), your pledge is lifted, and your units are fully restored automatically; no extra steps or OTP needed from you.
Auto Debit
Yes, you can set up a NACH auto debit mandate. This requires saving bank account details
NACH mandate is an authorization you give to KreditBee to automatically deduct your EMIs from your bank account on the due date every month. It ensures timely repayment without you having to remember the due date manually. It is a secure and RBI-approved system used by banks and financial institutions.
NACH mandates are created in the loan journey to schedule auto debit of EMIs. There are 3 methods to create NACH mandates - using debit card details, netbanking creadentials or using aadhaar details.
- To create a NACH mandate using debit card, select the debit card option on NACH option selection screen. After selecting debit card, you will have to provide the debit card details of the bank account you are using to create the mandate. For a step-by-step guide, you can watch the explainer video - video link
- To create a NACH mandate using Aadhaar, select the Aadhaar option on NACH option selection screen. After selecting Aadhaar, you will have to provide the Aadhaar details of the Aadhaar card linked to your bank account. For a step-by-step guide, you can watch the explainer video - video link
- To create a NACH mandate using Netbanking, select the Netbanking option on NACH option selection screen. After selecting Netbanking, you will have to provide the netbanking credentials of the bank account you are using to create the mandate. For a step-by-step guide, you can watch the explainer video - video link
- To cancel a NACH mandate, go to my account section on your KreditBee platform and click on Auto debit mandates option. You can see all the auto debit mandates you have created here. Click on 'cancel mandate' option against the mandate you want to cancel and your request will be processed. For a step-by-step guide, you can watch the explainer video - video link
- To suspend a NACH mandate, go to my account section on your KreditBee platform and click on Auto debit mandates option. You can see all the auto debit mandates you have created here. Click on 'suspend mandate' option against the mandate you want to suspend. To revoke a suspended mandate, go go to my account section on your KreditBee platform and click on Auto debit mandates option. You can see all the auto debit mandates you have created here. After prepayment, your loan details will be updated in the app. You can check that your EMI schedule will be changed
Prepayment may lead to reduction of tenure of loan thereby leading to slightly shorten credit history, but overall it often improves your credit score by lowering outstanding debt and demonstrating financial responsibility.
Income verification
Your income information helps us evaluate your ability to repay the loan and decide your eligibility.
KreditBee offers loans only to applicants who have a valid income source. If you don’t have one, unfortunately, you won’t be eligible to apply at this time.
We use this information to verify your employment and income source to provide you with a higher loan amount.
You can add your company by selecting 'Add new company' option in the dropdown of all listed companies.
Account aggregator, net banking and bank statement PDF are modes of income verification to verify your monthly income. Account aggregator requires OTP verification on mobile number linked to bank account, netbanking requires netbanking username and password, and bank statement option requires uploading PDF bank statement by downloading it from your bank website. Account aggregator is the fastest process.
Please make sure that your bank statement pdf is less than 10mb. If the PDF size is more than 10mb, try uploading monthly bank statement individually rather than uploading 1 file.

Credit Score Report
A credit score is a numerical representation of your creditworthiness, reflecting your ability to repay borrowed money. It is calculated by credit bureaus based on your credit behavior. A higher score suggests responsible credit usage, improving your chances of loan approvals at better interest rates. In India, there are 4 well known Credit Information Companies that track the Credit Score of an individual. They are Experian, CIBIL, CRIF and Equifax. They are entities regulated by law and have all the loan and repayment information of an individual, be it a credit card use, a bank loan, or a telecom postpaid connection.
Your credit score is calculated using a combination of key financial behaviors and credit history. Credit bureaus like CIBIL, Experian, CRIF High Mark, and Equifax use proprietary algorithms, but the core factors remain mostly consistent across bureaus. Some of the factors include:
- Payment History - This is the most important factor. It reflects whether you’ve paid your EMIs, credit card bills, and loan dues on time. Any missed or delayed payments negatively impact your score.
- Credit Utilization Ratio - This refers to how much of your available credit limit you're currently using. A lower utilization is seen positively. High credit usage can signal financial stress and reduce your score.
- Types of Credit in Use - A healthy mix of secured (e.g., home or auto loan) and unsecured (e.g., credit cards, personal loans) credit is beneficial. It shows you can handle different types of credit responsibly.
- Recent Credit Inquiries - Every time you apply for a loan or credit card, a “hard inquiry” is recorded. Too many inquiries in a short time can hurt your score, as it may appear that you're financially unstable.
You can purchase your credit score report by clicking on the ‘Credit Report’ option on the KreditBee homepage. After entering your registered mobile number, submit the OTP, make the payment, and your report will be available under the Credit Report tab within minutes.
Credit Report PDF is password protected. Password will be your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format OR a combination of first 4 CHAR of your PAN and last 4 DIGIT of your Mobile number.
Eg: If DOB is 26th July 1990, password will be 26071990 OR if PAN is BXLP*** and Mobile number is ***0051, password will be BXLP0051
Your Credit Score report has a credit score that usually ranges between 300 and 900, with higher scores indicating better creditworthiness. Some of the key factors in your credit score report which influence your score are:
- Late or missed payments
- High credit utilization
- Short credit history
- Too many recent credit inquiries
- Credit Account Summary
- Repayment history for each month
No. When you check your own score, it is considered a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score in any way.
Yes. If you find any incorrect or outdated information, you can raise a dispute directly with the respective bureau (CIBIL, Experian, etc.). They usually resolve such disputes after investigation.
Each bureau may have access to slightly different data and may use different scoring models. This can lead to minor variations in your score across CIBIL, Experian, CRIF, and Equifax.
Yes. Once your report is generated in KreditBee, you can download it as a PDF. You can also print it for offline reference.
Your credit report is usually ready within a few minutes of successful payment. In rare situations, it can take up to 24 hours due to technical or data processing delays.
Payment failures may happen due to network issues, declined cards, or bank server errors. You can retry after a few minutes or use a different payment method.
